Onychargia atrocyana
Selys, 1865
Elevation 80-800m
Abdomen length 23mm
Location Terai - Koshi Tapu, Parsa and Chitwan
A small black damselfly with a hairy face, bluish-white rings on abdominal segments 3-6 and cream-colored stripes on the thorax. Older males appear almost totally black, while females are similar in color to the younger males but with broader yellow stripes on the thorax and along the abdomen. They are found near wetlands, small ponds, slow flowing canals, and streams. I never did get a really good photo of this species. I had hoped to see it again but so far it is still a goal.
